Getafe are one of those teams that always puts up a fight, and Saturday was no exception. However, the Barça squad went on the pitch with this drilled into them and they did everything they could to make sure the match went their way.

Turning up the pressure dial, most of the play with in the Getafe half, Alves scored in minute 16. And while Barça carried on attacking, they didn’t seem to be able to slot the ball into the net; it wasn’t until the start of the second half that Bojan put the ball home.

While that was the last of the night for Barça, Getafe didn’t give up. Their first and only goal came three minutes before time for a final score of 2-1.

1-0, Alves (min 16)
2-0, Bojan (min 49)

Barcelona walked away with a single point last night when they drew against Sevilla. Although Messi scored early on, the referee denied them the goal due to a foul by another Barça player.

Bojan, who came on in place of Pedro, scored at the half hour mark, after the Catalans were clearly dominating the hosts. However, after the break Sevilla got through to the Barça goal and equalised and came close to scoring again soon after.

Despite Barcelona’s superiority they were unable to put the ball in the net again and the match finished a 1-1 draw, leaving Barça just 5 points clear of Real Madrid at the top of the Spanish League table.

1-1 Navas (min 48)

Narrow win against Zaragoza

Posted on March 6th, 2011 by admin

Barcelona narrowly beat Zaragoza at the Nou Camp on Saturday night with a goal from Keita a few minutes before half time set up by Leo Messi.

Keita had had a goal disallowed 30 minutes in – an incorrect offside call by the ref – but this time it counted. With a heavy Zaragoza defence, Barça had a tough time getting through and when they did the Zaragoza keeper made sure he reached the ball.

Victor Valdes, back after injury, had little to do, but when Zaragoza did break through he was ready. A disappointing result ahead of Arsenal on Tuesday.

1-0, Keita (min 42)

Barcelona took another valuable three points against Valencia last night thanks to a goal from Leo Messi in the second half. Barça were a long way from their best and looked to struggle a little thanks to the pitch, which was a little dry. However, the single goal was all that was needed. Real Madrid plays tonight.
