FC Barcelona beat league leaders Valencia on Saturday night thanks to goals from Iniesta and Puyol.

The visitors were the first to score after 37 minutes and nearly put a second goal past Valdes immediately after. However, that shock spurred Barça into action and Messi immediate went on the offensive.

Although the first half whistle cut that short, the Catalans started the second half meaning business. Iniesta scored almost immediately and while David Villa’s header failed to go in thanks to a great save, Barça captain Carles Puyol scored the second of the night for Barcelona and ensured the three points.

Barcelona are now second in the league after Real Madrid.
