Messi hat trick in 5-0 win against Mallorca
Posted on October 30th, 2011 by adminFC Barcelona soundly beat Mallorca last night in a 5-0 win at the Nou Camp, including a Messi hat trick that ended the Argentine’s goal drought. Isaac Cuenca scored his first goal for Barça and Dani Alves made it 5.
With Real Madrid winning their match, both sides were eager to see minnows Levante slip up this weekend; Osasuna beat them 2-0, ending their string of wins and allowing the two giants of Spanish football to leapfrog them into first and second place; Real Madrid are now on 25 points, with Barça on 24 and Levante on 23. It was fun while it lasted, but nobody really expected for the club to continue this run, impressive enough as it is.
Barcelona faces Viktoria Plzen on Tuesday (Champions League) followed by Athletic de Bilbao on Sunday.
