Narrow win against Sporting puts Barça on top

Posted on October 3rd, 2011 by admin

FC Barcelona rose to the head of the table last night after a narrow 1-0 win against Sporting Gijon, who sit at the very bottom of the Spanish League table. The only goal of the match came in the 12th minute from Adriano despite Barça dominating the match, with the hosts upsetting the Catalans rhythm at the beginning of the second half but unable to do anything more than stop them from progressing.

The result puts Barcelona in the number one spot on 14 points with Levante behind them with the same; Real Madrid are in third place on 13 points.
