With the possibility that the league would be decided on Saturday night, Spain experienced the slightly weird sensation of all matches kicking of at 9p.m. to ensure no team had any kind of advantage from knowing things had gone better or worse elsewhere.
The real focus of the night were the matches between Sevilla and FC Barcelona; and Real Madrid and Athletic Bilbao because with a Barça win, Madrid also needed to win their match to have any hope at taking the league title next week.
In the end Barcelona won their game 3-2, with goals from Messi, Bojan and Pedro; And Real Madrid really showed theat they haven’t given up, with a 5-1 victory against a 10 man Athletic Bilbao.
So, it all goes down to the final match of the league, when Barça play at home against Valladolid; and Real Madrid face Malaga.
